8 Ways to Whiten Teeth Naturally

Dougles Horton said, “Smile, it’s free therapy. ” and Mother Teresa said, “We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.” but some of us are reluctant to smile even when needed just because of yellow teeth. I myself love to have my perfect smile with white teeth. These days, there are several apps that can turn your yellow teeth white with just a click but what about real life image? I do videos for my blog and I prefer to have my teeth perfect all the time. Naturally, I have good teeth but they still need good maintenance so I do try few home remedies to keep them clean and white. And as always, my beauty starts from my kitchen and believe me or not there are several ingredients right in your kitchen already waiting for you to try out..

Now, in order to treat your teeth, you first have to know the reason why they are yellow, if they are really stained, home remedies may not work. The following remedies are for those who have just slightly yellow teeth and wish to make it little brighter and white.

Are these remedies going to guarantee ridiculously white teeth within a week? No. You may start to see a difference, but it won’t be as instant as the commercial products. Constant application of commercial whitening strips have been shown to cause erosion of enamel over time and results in tooth sensitivity, especially with eating hot and cold liquids and foods.

Bottom line is whitening strips should be used in moderation. Teeth bleaching products should only be used under the guidance of your dentist. The best way to whiten teeth is by feeding your body lots of healthy foods for strong bones, teeth and gums and omitting coffee, tea and sugary foods in your diet. If you smoke, stop smoking. And brush and floss your teeth every day!

Avoid your teeth turning yellow with following tips:

Coffee, tea, soda, and wine can all cause serious damage to the enamel of your teeth. Whenever possible, use a straw to reduce direct exposure to teeth. If drinking your coffee or wine out of a straw is more embarrassing than discolored teeth, just make sure to brush after drinking these beverages – except after drinking white wine.

Feel free to try out any or all of the below home remedies and enhance your smile!
1. Lemon or Orange Peel

Lemon rind and Peel is one of my favorite to use to whiten my teeth quickly and easily. If lemon is too strong for you, try orange.
Peel a lemon and apply this lemon peel on the teeth.
Rub it all over the teeth for a minute or two then rinse with water.
Continue doing this process regularly.
Or blend lemon peel with water to make a fine paste.
Use this to brush your teeth then rinse off thoroughly with clean water
Repeat three times a week.

2. Eat Strawberries
Eat Strawberries

I have noticed that whenever my son eats strawberries, his teeth turn clean, brighter and white. I find strawberries quick and easy way to whiten teeth.
There is evidence that strawberries can help whiten teeth due to containing an enzyme called malic acid and vitamin C. The astringent found in strawberries helps to remove surface stains, while vitamin C washes away plaque. Mashing a few strawberries and brushing with the mixture once or twice a week can have positive results. You could also just eat strawberries, making sure to chew really well and allowing them to do the brushing on their own.[show_more more=”Continue Reading”] 3. Eat Crunchy Fruits and Veggies
Apples, celery, and carrots are all great for your teeth. Crunchy fruit or vegetables act like nature’s toothbrush. Simply chewing removes excess food and bacteria from your mouth. It also helps to scrub away surface stains. Not only does the texture remove food particles and bacteria, but the acids in the fruits and vegetables pull double duty, actually keeping the teeth whiter. Apples in particular contain malic acid, the chemical also found in strawberries (and teeth whitening products) that removes surface stains.

4. Baking Soda and Lemon Juice Paste:
BakingSodaLemon
I use a mixture of baking soda and water on some days, and use the lemon juice on others, and sometimes sprinkle on my toothpaste as I don’t want to overdo it.
You will need…
-Several teaspoons of baking soda
-Enough lemon juice or water to form a paste
-A toothbrush
Directions

Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes.

5. Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide

Others reported on Earthclinic that hydrogen peroxide could also be an effective teeth whitening remedy. Hydrogen peroxide prevents the growth of bacteria, can help to prevent infections, and prevents bad breath, which often results from bacteria. Simply swish some food-grade hydrogen peroxide (FGHP) around in your mouth for a few seconds, than spit it out. Another option would be to mix a 50/50 solution using FGHP and water, and swish it around for 60 seconds.

6. Salt

Salt restores the lost minerals in the teeth and this in turn helps to achieve whiteness. However it is harmful for gums and enamel so avoid using this salt remedy regularly. I also gargle with salted water to remove bad breath after eating spicy food and specially when I eat raw onion.
Process 1:
Use salt as tooth powder instead of your regular tooth paste.
Do this process regularly.
Or you can simply mix baking soda with salt and rub this gently on the teeth.
Process 2:
Stir common salt and charcoal in a bowl.
Use this to brush your teeth.
Repeat this regularly to get white teeth.

7. Turmeric (Haldi)

Turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory property that helps to give relief from gum problems. It also has strong anti-microbial that kills all the germs and other micro-organisms that prevents tooth decay and gum disease.
Process 1:
Roast turmeric for few minutes.
Crush into a powder and add a little lime juice and salt.
Mix well to make a fine paste.
Apply this paste on the teeth.
Leave for few minutes and then rinse it off with water thoroughly.
Do this process regularly.
Process 2:
Mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder with water to make a paste.
Brush your teeth with this paste and leave for about 2 – 3 minutes.
Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water till the yellow strains has been removed from the mouth.
Do this process regularly.
Process 3:
Add ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder to ½ glass of water and stir well.
Use as a mouthwash.
Continue rinsing your mouth with this water regularly.
Or simply sprinkle turmeric powder into the tooth paste which you’re using regularly.

8. How to use apple cider vinegar for teeth whitening?
Apple Cider Vinegar
Dilute apple cider vinegar with water (
half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar solution to a cup of water
) and gargle in the morning. Brush as usual after you gargle. Do this regularly to get rid of stains on teeth and whiten them. Here are home remedies for all your oral health problems.
Tips to keep in mind
Always shake the bottle before use as the essential compounds are present at the bottom of the bottle.
Remember to dilute the solution prior to using it as it is acidic in nature and may harm your teeth if used in the undiluted form.

Avoid using excess vinegar, not more than once a day, on your teeth as it may weaken the enamel.[/show_more]
