Almond – Beauty Product from your Kitchen

Almond has several beauty benefits and is good for health also. Skin looks flawless and glowing by consumption of almonds.

Almond oil had been used extensively for its health benefits and as a beauty aid much before science caught up with the goodness of this seed oil. Very popular in Southeast Asia and in the Mediterranean region where the Almond tree was first domesticated, the almond kernels and the nutty oil extracted from them were credited with promoting heart and skin health.

Now we know that the oil is rich in Vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc, besides a number of other minerals and vitamins, which explains why it is so good for our heart, skin and hair.

These days, I have almond meal in my refrigerator ready to use anytime I want in my recipes.

It is so easy to make than you would think.

Ingredients:

2 cups of raw almonds

Method:

Place almonds into a good quality food processor or blender and process until nice and fine. It will look kind of like wet sand. Be careful not to over blend/process we are making flour/meal today not almond butter.

Optional – Pass your fretting ground almonds through a fine mesh sieve/strainer to remove any slightly larger, more coarse pieces of outer skins that may remain. I actually don’t bother with this step, totally your call

Use as you would regular store bought almond flour/meal.

FYI – I like to store my almond flour in the refrigerator or freezer.
