Think uncooked, unprocessed, mostly organic foods. Your staples: raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. Some eat unpasteurized dairy foods, raw eggs, meat, and fish. Your food can be cold or even a little bit warm, as long as it doesn’t go above 118 degrees.
There are few days out of 365 days, I prefer to eat raw food. Where I grew up, many people follow some fasting days and I came to understand why eating raw food is important.
Soaking, sprouting, dehydrating, blending, and juicing methods are popular among raw food diet followers to digest food with ease.
To follow the raw food diet, make sure at least 75% of the food you eat is raw. Most raw food diets are made primarily of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Grains and legumes are often permitted as well, but usually need to be soaked or sprouted before you eat them.
Raw foodism, also known as rawism or following a raw food diet, is the dietary practice of eating only food that is uncooked and unprocessed.
Depending on the philosophy, or type of lifestyle and results desired, raw food diets may include a selection of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, meat, and dairy products. It may also include simply processed foods such as various types of sprouted seeds, cheese, and fermented foods such as yogurts, kefir, kombucha, or sauerkraut, but generally not foods that have been pasteurized, homogenized, or produced with the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, solvents, and food additives.
Raw food diets are diets composed entirely or mostly of food that is uncooked or that is cooked at low temperatures.
A raw vegan diet consists of unprocessed, raw plant foods that have not been heated above 40–49 °C (104–120 °F).
