Walmart Buys That Are Totally Worth It

Disclaimer: I am not getting paid for writing this post and I am in no way affiliated with Walmart.

For many, Walmart is not the best place to shop but to me personally, I do shop at Walmart frequently to avoid trips to multiple stores as I have super Walmart near me to get everything my family’s daily needs. I do support some local stores as well to find some of the best ingredients I use in my daily cooking and some from my own home grown garden vegetables, herbs and more.
Many people shop at Walmart on a regular basis. And while the selections may be more or less limited depending on your area, you absolutely CAN shop clean at Walmart. You may have to supplement slightly with other stores as I do sometimes if your aim is to be completely clean, but all in all, I am oil shopping at Walmart!!
And before anybody gets upset, let me just say that I know many people take issue with Walmart. I’m not writing this post to debate the politics or to say if it’s right or wrong to shop there. So let’s not go there. I’m simply writing this post to help people that DO shop there, buy the healthiest items they can. Simple as that. Please take it in the spirit in which it was intended.
If you’re looking for affordable groceries, Walmart is the place to shop. As one of the country’s biggest grocery stores, Walmart brings shoppers fresh and packaged foods at price points that can fit any budget.
Coupons are a great way to stretch your budget, but be sure to only clip coupons for the items on your shopping list. Be savvy, and keep an eye out for store sales and deals on the foods you buy frequently. If you buy more than you can use in a week, be sure it is something that can be frozen or stored for later.
Your food dollars will stretch far when you buy in season fruits and vegetables. Fresh fruits and vegetables are generally less expensive when they’re in season than when they’re not. So tomatoes and peaches should be less expensive in the summer, than if you buy them the winter. Plus, they taste better too.
Since I am not a fan of packaged food, I mostly shop many fresh, frozen and pantry ingredients from Walmart. Many fresh vegetables like cauliflower cabbage spinach lettuce broccoli tomatoes peppers of all kinds, onion potato and so on.

Fruits like banana strawberry blueberries grapes kiwi and sometimes seasonal fruits. Frozen items like corn, peas and so on. Pantry items like salt sugar oil lentils beans rice grains pasta
etc. Occasionally, I buy snacks for my boys and some random items.

I also surf through Walmart Gluten Free Isle as well.

Great Value spices
If you’ve ever needed to stock up on herbs and spices, you know it can get expensive fast. But Walmart’s Great Value brand spices are a lot cheaper than even the other brands of spices sitting next to them on the shelves. And the best part is, they’re produced by brand-name manufacturer McCormick, according to the Krazy Coupon Lady.
Kitchen and household essentials

General non-food staples like paper plates, trash bags, Kleenex, Glad Press’n Seal and toilet paper are routinely cheaper at Walmart than at its competitor Target, according to the Krazy Coupon Lady.

A 48-count package of Dixie paper plates sells for $2.78 at Walmart, beating out even the dollar store price of $3, according to Basket, while a single box of Kleenex is 98 cents at Walmart, compared to $1.87 at CVS.

Overall, the Krazy Coupon Lady finds that Walmart beat out Target on price in about 10 different household product categories.
We all have different needs so I would suggest to make the list you use frequently in your daily life. Making list helps to avoid unnecessary trips to the store and control impulsive shopping.
In this post, I am sharing my weekly buys. Below are some of the items I need every week.

Bananas are Walmart’s top-selling food, so add some to your cart the next time you’re there. You’ll be in good company!
From hot oatmeal to overnight oats to oatmeal cookies, oats have endless possibilities, which is why they should always be in your pantry. At Walmart, an 18-ounce container will only set you back $2.68.
Nuts are a healthy, shelf-stable snack that’s always good to have around. And you can find great prices on the Great Value line of nuts at Walmart.

It’s no wonder almonds are one of the 6 Best Nuts for Weight Loss.
Yes, it’s great to make cauliflower rice from scratch. But if you’re short on time, you can also pick up a frozen bag of the stuff at Walmart. Not just cauliflower rice, but one can prepare cauliflower pizza crust, toast and more.

If you never seem to use all your avocados before they get mushy, these frozen avocado pieces could be your new best friend. Add them to your morning smoothie for a dose of healthy fat.
Frozen veggies are packed with nutrients, and many are $1 or less at Walmart. This 12-ounce bag of frozen cauliflower is just $1!
While you’re shopping Walmart’s frozen section, pick up some strawberries, too. This 16-ounce bag costs just $2.
Please Note: These prices and product availability can vary greatly depending on your location. This list and prices is current for my area (Columbia County Florida) on the date of this blog post.
