Don't want to go through long process of Dhokla, make this instant dish that taste exacltly like Dhokla and can be made in no time. Kapuria is very popular in south part of Gujarat.
1cupKapuria flour mix(this mix contains 1 cup rice and 2 tbsp mix of tuvar and chana daal and then ground very fine. Watch video above)
1&1/2 cup water
½cupboiled pigeon peas or green peas(optional-can be made without any peas)
¼cupyogurt
½tspeach ginger and green chili paste
2tbspcrushed/ground peanut
1tspcumin seeds or cumin powder
About 4-5 tbsp +2 more tbsp oil
¼tspsanchar/papad kharo(optional)
½tspcoriander powder
A pinch of Turmeric powder
A pinch of Asafoetida
Salt and sugar to taste
Instructions
Boil 11/2 cup of water in one pot. Take another pot and heat 2 tbsp oil.
When oil is done, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add boiled Pigeon or green peas if adding.
Let this peas cook little bit. While that is cooking, take flour into bowl, add 4-5 tbsp oil and yogurt.
Other spices can be added into flour as well and mix flour, oil and yogurt very well.
Now while water is boiling with pigeon peas, add flour mix and let it cook again till it gets hard enough to make balls out of it.
When hard enough, turn off the stove and let it cool.
When warm or cool enough, make flat balls and steam in the steamer or pot about 15-20mins.(When you steam, make sure that there is enough water at bottom)
Serve with chutneys or give it a tadka and cook in the pan till little golden brown and serve.
