Dos & Don’t for Healthy Living

“To insure good health: eat lightly, breathe deeply, live moderately, cultivate cheerfulness, and maintain an interest in life.” – William Londen.
Perhaps, many of us know what we should do for healthy living but can’t put it all in action. First, we have to simplify our lives for healthy living.
How do you simplify life?
A simple life is not filled with complications and distractions, it is a life that is lived focused on things that matter to the person. It can also have varying extremes. For some, it’s as simple as cutting their cable bills and getting rid of the TV, while others can go as far as living “off the grid.”
Every month, I set the goal for at least one thing I can simplify & I can see that it is not hard at all to make some good, positive changes in our everyday lives. Try following some Dos from below and I am sure you will start seeing positivity around you.
Declutter your house. Your environment affects how you feel physically and psychologically.
Get rid of bad mental habits. Bad mental habits carry a lot of psychological weight.
Select your top five. What are the five most important things in your life?
Say no. We often agree to take on more than we can handle. I myself did that for many years & life became complicated! We try to please people around us and end up being stressful for our selves.
Switch off notifications. There is nothing to miss…it is just a FOMO (fear of missing out)!
Limit media. I remember how I used to scroll medias for hours to find something good to read/watch but hardly found one! Then I started reading good motivational books, started practicing meditation and feel much better now.

Simplify your wardrobe.
Spend time alone. This is one of my favorite..I gaze at sky moon, flowers in my garden. The aroma of herbs in my garden awaken all my senses!

Eat slowly. Focus on the tastes and textures of your food. Enjoy your food rather than inhaling it! Be sure to slow down so that you can feel the hunger go away and feel a comfortable, full feeling take over.
Some more Do’s to Stay Healthy and Fit
Do come up with a schedule.
Do some sort of exercise everyday.
Do watch your diet. Meal planning can be very helpful.
Do keep your stress levels down.
Do get enough sleep. Good sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health. Not getting enough quality sleep regularly raises the risk of many diseases and disorders. These range from heart disease and stroke to obesity and dementia.
Cut out toxic people.
Take charge of your money.
Gain control of your time.
Living a slow and simple life just feels good—great even. You have less stress and anxiety because you’re not trying to do everything. This can result in huge boosts to your mental health.
This is the video I thought of sharing with you all my friends to show that the life is full of ups and downs but how one can decide to make life positive with variety of activities in our daily lives. Activities like cooking, gardening, fitness, traveling, spending time with family friends, and more….living life meaningful, positive and inspiring!

When one starts following many great Dos, there are hardly any Don’t left but let’s see some Don’t…
Don’t waste time on being negative.
Don’t eat when you’re bored or stressed. I would rather practice meditation.
Don’t let the laziness set in.

Hope this article helps you to simplify your life!
