I love khichdi so much that I almost convert many recipes into khichdi. If you don’t know what Khichdi is let me introduce it. Khichdi or Khichuṛī is a dish in South Asian cuisine made of rice and lentils, but other variations include bajra and mung dal kichri. In Indian culture, in several regions, especially in the northern areas, it is considered one of the first solid foods that babies eat. Some of us may debate whether Khichdi is healthy or not…
As a steady powerhouse of carbohydrates, calcium, vitamins, and several other antioxidants, khichdi is considered to be a wholesome meal that is also comforting. Simmered till mushy, seasoned with a dash of turmeric and salt, and topped with ghee, khichdi can make for an ideal meal.

I grew up eating khichdi and has never felt any issue with it. In fact, when I was in school, I used to eat khichdi in a very early morning. I remember my mother making the khichdi around 5 o’clock in the morning and I would eat it around 6:00am…before leaving the house. I always had it loaded with ghee and pickle…OMG my mouth is watering!!!
