2-Minute Homemade Butter

Shake your way to fresh butter and buttermilk. Here are simple instructions for making homemade butter. Great for home or the classroom, or even as a party trick to blow your guests’ minds! Add many flavors to homemade butter like Herb Garlic, orange, coconut, berry and more!
Butter is my favorite. Makhan known as in India. I watched my mother making Makhan at home and I really enjoyed the whole process of making Butter.

Make Homemade Butter with just cream to make your own delicious homemade butter for baking recipes or just to eat on toast. I can find two brands of heavy whipping cream easily at most supermarkets near me. Walmart brand is way cheaper than LandOLakes brand. So go with your choice of whipping cream.

Now, once you have heavy whipping cream, it is super quick and easy to make butter. Pour cream into a food processor or blender. Process for 2-5 minutes, or until the butter separates. Strain off the liquid. Season to taste with salt if you like. I start churning cream from medium to high speed but can be done at medium speed.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Heavy Whipping Cream 35% 16 oz(473ml)
  • 2 cups Ice Cold Water with some Ice cubes
  • Food processor or Blender

Instructions

  • In a food processor or blender, add cream.
  • Start churning on a medium heat and increase to high as you go.
  • Churn till butter separates. It may take anywhere from 2-5 minutes or longer depending on whisk speed.
  • Once butter is separated, add salt if desired and add ice-cold water with ice and start collecting butter or use cheese cloth to strain butter quickly. If desired, extra rinse can be done to wash butter well.
  • Now, you can shape the butter however you like and store into refrigerator for up to 15 days or freeze for longer.
  • If desired, many flavors can be added to butter before refrigerating.
  • Enjoy butter however you like!
