Soya chunks or Granules fried with onion and Peas makes a very good alternative for keema. Here I am showing video with tofu so you can use either tofu or soy chunks!
Vegeterian Keema-Soy Chunks
Ingredients
- Oil 1-2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves few
- Soya chunks or Granules (Nutrela) 1 cup
- Onion 1 medium (finley chopped)
- Tomato 2 medium (finley chopped)
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Frozen Peas 1 handful -optional
- Coriander leaves 5 sprigs (finely chopped)
- Turmeric Powder a pinch
- Chilli powder 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- ¼ tsp or according to your taste garam masala
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of water in a wide vessel,when water starts boiling add 1 cup of soya granules,after 3 minutes remove form the stove,drain and wash in fresh water for 2-3 times,drain completely and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a wok/kadai,add the tempering ingredients mustard, cumin seeds, curry leaves and when it splutter add ginger-garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves.
- Then add the finely chopped onions,sprinkle some salt and fry till light golden brown.
- After that add finely chopped tomatoes and saute till it turns tender n mushy.
- Then add drained soya granules,frozen peas and give it a stir and add all the dry powders and stir fry for 2 minutes and cook covered for another 2-3 minutes.
- and now add the garam masala powder,some chopped coriander leaves and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Delicious vegetarian soy Keema is ready to serve. Serve with Rice or Roti/naan or other bread.
